The Under 16's have retained the Medway Area Festival trophy for the 3rd year running. Well done everyone involved

August Bank Holiday Cricket

Congratulations to BBH who ran out winners at Yalding's 12 over a side, round robin competition. After a shaky start BBH managed to show what they have been lacking for most of the season.. the ability to score runs. See report below.

Unfortunately the over 40's team were not as successful, just failing to beat the Mote in our annual bank holiday match.

WEEKEND NEWS

RAIN PREVENTED FINISHES IN SATURDAYS LEAGUE GAMES. THE 1STS WERE FIGHTING BACK FROM A POOR STAR WHEN CURTAILED, THE SECONDS LOOKED TO BE SETTING UP A WINNING POSITION. HOWEVER RESULTS FROM ELSEWHERE HELPED BOTH TEAMS AND THE BATTLE TO AVOID RELEGATION IS STILL VERY MUCH ON.

SATURDAY NIGHT SAW A BARBECUE AND A NUMBER OF HARDY SOULS CAMPING UP AT THE GROUND IN THE WET WEATHER AS A PRELUDE TO AN EXCELLENT FAMILY DAY WITH CRICKET FOR ALL AGES AND YET MORE BARBECUE IN GOOD WEATHER. THE WHOLE WEEKEND RAISED APPROX. £400 FOR CLUB FUNDS, AND THE SATURDAY NIGHT WAS ENOUGH FUN FOR EVERYONE TO WANT TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR , HOPEFULLY WITH BETTER WEATHER AND A FEW MORE PARTICIPANTS. WELL DONE ALL CONCERNED.

THE UNDER 16'S LOST ONE GAME IN THEIR QUEST TO RETAIN THE MEDWAY FESTIVAL FOR THE 3RD YEAR RUNNING, BUT CAME BACK MONDAY TO BEAT HARVEL AND NOW NEED ONE MORE WIN NEXT WEDNESDAY TO WIN THE COMPETITION. STILL NO NEWS ON OUR TEMPORARY INABILITY TO LAY OUR HANDS ON THE TROPHY, HAVING LENT IT TO ONE OF LAST YEARS WINNING SQUAD FOR SAFEKEEPING. PLEASE SEARCH YOUR CUPBOARDS AND LOFTS AND IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE IT IS PLEASE TEL DAVE HAYWARD !!!
